  • I need to get off my butt and start focusing again on God's Grace.  I have a strong tendency and temptation toward legalism especially when I repent and then a short while later, fall back into the same sin.  Legalism leads to unbelief in Christ and is an inaccurate view of God's Sovereignty and Power.  That, in turn, leads eventually to apostasy.  God is indeed sovereign and powerful enough to defeat sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  I thank God that He through Christ has freed us from sin and freed us to serve Christ instead of our sinful nature.  He has further promised to glorify all of whom He has justified and to complete that which He has begun.

  • Hey, do you attend VT? I am saddened by Marcus Vick. I liked his brother a lot in college and I could see some potential in young Marcus. Too bad he had to waste it all away like Clarett.
What a narrow path we follow. On one side we have legalism, on another we antinomianism. We either became pharisees or we "coninue in sin so that grace may abound." Both are very troubling. Yet, praise God for not only imputing the rightousness of His Son to us, but also sending the Spirit to work in us to will and to act according to His good pleasure.
I have trouble between knowing how to be truly repented for my sins while at the same time not fall into sinful guilt but instead look to Christ, the author and protector of my faith.
    Take care brother!

  • good stuff man. Also good call on the applesauce

  • thats freaking Owl on your hand

  • "Get off my butt and focus on God's grace" has a little twist of irony in it :) .

  • Anything that requires a glove on your hand just to hold it is scary... ;)

  • 'Tis a living owl on my hand.  It starred in some baseball movie, the title which I can't recall.

  • Ahhh... hee... I see perhaps my comments on my xanga needed further elaboration. I'm more talking about cult-like tactics that certain teachers use... I'll try to grab some more info on it.

  • Hey Witt! Missed you last night. We scarfed some pretty good hamburgers!

Cool to see you are fighting against this temptation. Don't we all! Praying for you, man!
